It's great to be involved with the team at University of Auckland Investment Club in presenting the GD1 Venture Capital Competition. Student teams battled it out, presenting their best investment thesis based on a fictitious $15M fund, selecting and analysing three real-world companies before presenting their results to a panel of judges. And did we mention the NZ$1,200 prize pool?
Raewyn Leow, Kevin Li, Shyam Prasad-Jones and Saeyavan Sitsabesan.
We were impressed with their presentations as up-and-coming venture capitalists and having founders Tim Warren (Ambit), Hengjie Wang (Kami) and Craig Piggott (Halter) talking about their companies after the presentations was extra special.
Huge thank you to the judges at both the competition heats and finals for pitching in and making the event a huge success - Debra Hall, Owen Woodhouse, Laura Faulconer, Andrew Chen, Samuel Wilkins and Giulia Dressler.
Hope to see you all again in the competition next year alongside us and the University of Auckland Investment Club!
