Why we invested
Online education has a completion problem: courses are one-size-fits-all, communities are an afterthought, and the gap between getting certified and getting hired remains entirely the student's problem to solve. NextWork is building a personalised learning platform that adapts to how each student learns and how much time they have, pairs them with a matched cohort of five, and stays with them through to employment. Amber Joseph built $435K in revenue before raising a dollar, turned down graduate offers from Salesforce, Xero, and Deloitte to do it, and logged over 1,600 hours directly engaging with students to understand the problem she was solving. Her students pass their AWS certifications at 100% against a 70% industry average, and the testimonials read less like reviews and more like life-change stories. This is a pre-seed bet on a founder who has already proven she can build something people genuinely love, in a market growing toward US$300B by 2030.
